I prefer to outline all mine hosts, but theres no support for tabs and the used font won't align properly.
Just a minor improvement.

Along these lines...

I would love it if app parsed the txt files and displayed the output in a sortable table with check boxes for active/inactive and inline editing. [Screen attached]

Bonus: It would also be nice to have a comment column. However I know the hosts format requires comments to be on their own line. So maybe when parsing and writing the txt file a comment above an entry could be assumed to be for that line and be displayed in a column next to the "Host Name".

Every time I shutdown or restart Windows, it will hang and wait for me to close HostProfiles.

The message says:

"1 program still needs to close:
HostProfiles
This program is preventing Windows from shutting down."

The program probably lies in your canceling the close event:

Hi,

First off--great program--exactly what I've been looking for when developing on Win.

When I right click on the icon and click 'show' to launch the UI a host profile is selected in the left-hand pane, but the contents are not automatically loaded in the right hand pane. [Screen attached]

It would be nice if the active profile were pre-loaded for me. Note this only happens the first time I launch the app.

I use the following settings for all textboxes now:

this.TextBoxProfile.AcceptsTab = true;
this.TextBoxProfile.Font = new System.Drawing.Font("Lucida Console", 10F, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Regular, System.Drawing.GraphicsUnit.Point, ((byte)(0)));

I fixed it myself; replace the 'FormMain_FormClosing' event with this:

private void FormMain_FormClosing(object sender, FormClosingEventArgs e)
{
if (e.CloseReason == CloseReason.UserClosing)
{
e.Cancel = !goodbye;
HideShow();
}
}

We are using your software in the company but we need to share the files between multiple users and for that we added a simple option to ser at the config.ini where the profiles are located.

Please add an option to specify if I want HostProfiles to be opened when started.
Personally I prefer it just hides to the tray-icons.

Flush dns to get a new name resolution. Also flush dns cache when you can’t access a newly registered domain name. You can simply flush your dns cache anytime to get new entry. So, Flush your dns cache now.

To flush DNS cache in Microsoft Windows (Win XP, Win ME, Win 2000):-

- Start -> Run -> type cmd
- in command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns
- Done! You Window DNS cache has just been flush.

To flush the DNS cache in Linux, restart the nscd daemon:-

- To restart the nscd daemon, type /etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart in your terminal
- Once you run the command your linux DNS cache will flush.

To flush the DNS cache in Mac OS X Leopard:-

- type lookupd -flushcache in your terminal to flush the DNS resolver cache.
ex: bash-2.05a$ lookupd -flushcache
- Once you run the command your DNS cache (in Mac OS X) will flush.

To flush the DNS cache in Mac OS X:-

- type dscacheutil -flushcache in your terminal to flush the DNS resolver cache.
ex: bash-2.05a$ dscacheutil -flushcache
- Once you run the command your DNS cache (in Mac OS X Leopard) will flush.
